제 음악적 신념은 ‘진정성’입니다. 진실은, 언제나 통합니다.
My belief in music is authenticity. Truth, always, resonates.
여섯 살, 첼로를 처음 안았습니다. 클래식을 사랑하는 부모님 곁에서 시작된 취미는 어느새 저라는 사람의 중심이 되었습니다. 저에게 음악은 기술적 완벽함을 넘어 진심을 전하는 언어, 관객과 나누는 ‘무언의 대화’입니다.
At six, I first held a cello. What began as a hobby beside my classical-loving parents became the very center of who I am. To me, music is a language of sincerity beyond technical perfection — a wordless dialogue shared with the audience.
현대 첼로와 바로크 첼로를 함께 연주합니다. 양의 창자로 만든 거트 현의 따뜻하고 섬세한 음색으로, 그 곡이 태어난 시대의 호흡을 되살립니다. 류트 연주자 나이젤 노스(Nigel North)와의 공부는 막연했던 바로크에 대한 애정을 깊은 해석으로 이끈 전환점이 되었습니다.
I perform on both modern and baroque cello. With the warm, delicate voice of gut strings, I revive the breath of the era each work was born in. Studying with lutenist Nigel North turned my vague love of the baroque into deep interpretation.
무대에 오르기 전, 언제나 되뇝니다 — “지금 이 순간에 충실하자.” 클래식의 본질과 전통은 소중히 지키되, 그 문은 누구에게나 열어두는 것. 그것이 제가 음악을 대하는 방식입니다.
Before every stage, I remind myself — “be true to this very moment.” To cherish the essence and tradition of classical music, yet keep its doors open to everyone. That is how I meet music.
